Yoga Dance

Yoga Dance, as the name implies, is a union of the two disciplines. The meditative nature of yoga and the outwardly expanding quality of dance complement each other, pulling our focus to pulsate between the internal and external worlds. The heightened awareness that comes with conscious breathing (pranayama) helps enliven our bodies, our dancing instrument.

Reciprocally, the exhilarating experience of moving through space to the rhythm of music brings us more in touch with our inner rhythms of beating heart, flowing breath and focused mind.

In this class the flowing nature of yoga is integrated more and more with modern dance, culminating in an off-the-matt yogic choreography through the studio.
